flow and brief parsers git repo master branches switched to Python 3

The git repository master branches for both parsers were merged with the Python 3 port branches. Now the parsers master branches contain Python 3 implementations. The Python 2 implementations source code is still available in the releases area.

IDE porting to Pyton 3 started

The porting of the main IDE code has started. It promises to be a long story because in addition to just porting the existing code some major restructuring and refactoring is going to be done. In particular the following is planned:

  • switching from PyQt4 to PyQt5
  • replacing QScintilla (a text editor component) with Qutepart
  • switching file formats to json where possible
  • replacing rope with jedi
  • move some functionality to plugins
  • replacing pymetrics with radon
  • etc.

The latest versions supporting python 2 are:

  • brief python parser: 2.0.1
  • control flow parser: 1.0.1
  • Codimension IDE: 3.0.2

Python 3 support is going to be introduced for the control flow parser. The parser resides in the cdm-flowparser github repository.

Python 2 versions are not supported anymore

There will be no more development for Python 2. There may be some major bug fix releases but the main focus of development is moved to Python 3 support.
